Five-star Victorian castle with its own loch at the foot of Ben Nevis, Torlundy, near Fort William
Inverlochy Castle Hotel is a Victorian castle of 1863 at the foot of Ben Nevis, with its own loch, a Great Hall and 17 individually designed rooms and suites, taken on exclusive use for weddings.
Inverlochy Castle Hotel is a Victorian castle built in 1863 by William Frederick Scarlett, 3rd Lord Abinger, at Torlundy just north of Fort William. It stands in its own grounds at the foot of Ben Nevis, beside a private loch. Queen Victoria stayed here for a week in 1873 and noted in her diary that she had never seen a lovelier or more romantic spot. The castle now operates as a five-star hotel, with a Great Hall hung with the Scarlett family crest and 17 individually designed en-suite rooms and suites, along with a gate lodge.
For weddings the whole castle and its grounds are taken on exclusive use. Ceremonies can be held in the Great Hall or the drawing rooms, or outdoors beside the loch beneath the mountain. The wedding breakfast is served in the Great Hall and the dining rooms, where the cooking follows a Roux culinary heritage and draws on Highland game, seafood and seasonal produce. Fort William is a few minutes away, and Inverness Airport is about 1 hour 40 minutes by road.

Lord Abinger built Inverlochy Castle in 1863, in grounds with their own loch at the base of Britain's highest mountain. Queen Victoria stayed for a week in 1873 and recorded in her diary that she had never seen a lovelier or more romantic spot.

The Great Hall, hung with the Scarlett family crest, is where ceremonies and wedding breakfasts take place. The drawing rooms suit smaller gatherings, and the loch-side grounds are open for outdoor vows.

With the whole castle taken for the wedding, guests settle in for a Highland stay. Glencoe and the Road to the Isles lie beyond, and the loch, the gardens and the mountains frame the photographs.
