Mas Torroella Luxury Villa & Spa is a fourteenth-century Catalan manor, or masia, on a hillside near the village of Forallac in the Baix Empordà, the gentle inland country behind the Costa Brava. Honey-coloured stone, a defensive tower and an arched entrance gate lead into private grounds of lawns, olive trees and gardens, with a swimming pool on the terrace below and a tennis court among the trees. A private spa has a heated indoor pool, a sauna and a gym.
For weddings the whole estate is reserved. Couples marry among the ancient ruined arches or on the lawns, and the celebration continues beneath festoon lights in the gardens and in a glass-walled events barn with old timber beams, for up to about 200 guests. Around ten en-suite bedrooms and suites, several under stone or brick vaults, and the separate La Caseta cottage sleep about thirty. Catering is bespoke for each wedding. Girona and its airport are about 35 minutes away, and the coast is 20 minutes.

I wanted to take the time to try to put into words how truly special this place is. From the minute we booked, we knew we were in safe hands with Silvia and her team. Nothing was ever too much trouble as they helped us plan and prepare for our stay at Mas Torroella, everyone was just so helpful. When we arrived, Silvia met us and showed us around her beautiful home, and I can honestly say the photos do not do it justice. Everything here is perfect, and it’s clear how important it is to Silvia that every single guest has the most incredible time at her beautiful home. We wouldn’t hesitate to book and come back here. All of the details were thoroughly thought out, and we just loved it here so much.
