About Greystone Mansion

Greystone Mansion is a 1928 Tudor Revival mansion and public park in Beverly Hills, with a Formal Garden for ceremonies and open-air courtyards for receptions of up to 150.

Greystone Mansion is a Tudor Revival house completed in 1928 by architect Gordon Kaufmann for Edward "Ned" Doheny Jr., son of the oil baron Edward L. Doheny Sr. Its 55 rooms stand within 18.3 acres of terraced English-style gardens above Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills, and the estate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The City of Beverly Hills bought it in 1965 and has run it as a public park since 1971.

Ceremonies take place outdoors in the Formal Garden, a lawn framed by white roses and clipped hedges around a historic fountain, for up to 250 guests. Receptions are held in the Inner Courtyard or the West Courtyard, both open-air, for a seated dinner of up to 150. For the booked hours the garden, courtyards, a prep room and the parking lot belong to the couple. There is no in-house kitchen, so couples choose a caterer from the City's approved list. The Grand Staircase, seen in many films, is a favourite for portraits. Los Angeles International Airport is about 30 to 40 minutes away.

A public park since 1971

The City of Beverly Hills bought the estate in 1965 and has run it as a public park since 1971. That ownership explains why the wedding fees are published openly and why the grounds are open for tours on most days.
