Kally Ellis and McQueens Flowers

McQueens opened its first London shop in 1991 under Kally Ellis. More than three decades on, the studio works from London, New York and Seoul, with its head office and flower school on London's South Bank.

Its work has dressed Claridge's in London, Barnsley House in the Cotswolds and the Peninsula Hotel in New York. For more than twenty-five years it has supplied the flowers for Vanity Fair's Oscars after-party, and it is floral design partner for the All England Lawn Tennis Club's Wimbledon Champions Ball.

“Flowers have the power to evoke mood and emotion, to tell a story without words.”

Weddings range from an intimate family ceremony to a formal celebration for several hundred guests, and each receives the same level of attention. Recent work includes a midsummer wedding at Barnsley House, a winter wedding at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons and a small ceremony in central London.

The design approach begins with a consultation by phone, in person or by video. It develops into a bespoke concept with visualisations, mood boards and floral samples, then an itemised proposal. On the day the team delivers, installs and discreetly breaks down.

The studio's style is classic and romantic, with sculptural and abundant, textural looks also available. White and green is the usual base, extended into blush or rich seasonal colour on request, using garden rose, ranunculus, peony, poppy, hydrangea and seasonal British stems.
