Loxus Hair and Makeup

Loxus Hair and Makeup is a Cardiff studio for brides, built around Maya Jasinska. She holds the HMUA qualification, a title open only to trained and fully qualified hair and makeup artists in the UK, and she has nine years of experience and more than 400 brides to her name.

Her signature is a Hollywood wave with a soft glam finish, a pairing that keeps skin looking like skin. Brides who want more presence can ask for full traditional glamour instead. Maya is also a professional hair extension technician and fits extensions in-house as part of the look.

Two assistant artists, Sara and Shona, join her when a party needs more than one pair of hands, and the team can style up to ten people for one wedding. A trial comes first for every bride, usually about three months before the date, so that nothing on the day is a surprise.

Away from weddings, Maya works as an HMUA in television and film, with credits that include the BBC and S4C, alongside fashion and session work. She is a founding member of the Association of British Wedding Businesses and a member of the BECTU union, and her work has appeared on the covers of Your South Wales Wedding and Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding.

The studio travels across South Wales, the South West, North Somerset, Bristol and Gloucestershire as standard, and worldwide for destination weddings.
