Elisabetta Cardani

Elisabetta Cardani grew up in a family flower shop in Dalmine that had been trading since 1959. In 2000 she founded the laboratory that bears her name, leaving general retail behind to concentrate on flower design and, in time, on directing the events those flowers are made for.

The studio does not repeat a house style from one wedding to the next. Each design starts from a conversation about who the couple are, their palette, their proportions and the character of the venue, and the arrangements are meant to tell that story. The work ranges from a single bridal bouquet to full ceremony and reception design: arches, pew ends, urn and pedestal arrangements, tablescapes and centrepieces.

“Un fiore è innanzitutto l'espressione di un messaggio. A flower is, above all, the expression of a message.”

Arrangements are composed at the Dalmine laboratory and delivered to the venue by climate-controlled transport, or built on site where the distance requires it. Seasonal flowers are favoured where possible, and composing centrally keeps waste on site to a minimum.

When a couple wants one point of contact, the studio also designs and directs the whole event, coordinating the location, catering, furnishings, lighting, photography, music and performers around the flowers. An optional Art Flower Show adds a live floral-design moment to the celebration for guests to watch.

Weddings have taken place at castles and villas including Castello di Malpaga, Castello di Paderna, Villa Rusconi Clerici on Lake Maggiore, Villa Castelbarco, Villa Giannone and Palazzo Visconti in Milan. The studio's compositions have appeared three times in Vogue Sposa and in Vanity Fair Italia, Gardenia and Io Donna's Wedding Book, and it built four floral panels of 1,500 flowers each for the Sanremo Festival party.

How they work

From the first message to the day itself

  1. 01Consultation

A conversation at the Dalmine laboratory, or on site for weddings further afield, settles the palette and the design around the couple before any flowers are ordered.

  2. 02Design

The studio proposes a scheme for the ceremony and reception that fits the couple's venue and budget.

  3. 03Composition

Arrangements are made centrally at the laboratory, which keeps waste on site low.

  4. 04Delivery and installation

Flowers travel in climate-controlled transport and are installed at the venue, or built there directly when the distance calls for it.

Questions couples ask

Before you write to them

Where is the laboratory based?

In Dalmine, in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy. The studio works across Lombardy and northern Italy and travels further on request.

What is the design style?

Elegant and narrative. Arrangements are built to tell the couple's story and identity, so each design begins with a conversation rather than a fixed look.

What can be created for a wedding?

Everything from a bridal bouquet to full ceremony and reception design, including arches, pew ends, urn and pedestal arrangements, tablescapes and centrepieces.

Is there a minimum spend?

No minimum is set. Each wedding starts with a consultation and the design is proposed around the couple's budget and venue.

Does the studio only design weddings?

No. It also designs corporate and private events and offers the Art Flower Show, a live floral-design moment within an event.

Can the studio design the whole event?

Yes, on request. It coordinates location, catering, furnishings, lighting, photography, music and performers alongside the flowers.

Has the studio been featured in the press?

Yes. Its compositions have appeared three times in Vogue Sposa, and in Vanity Fair Italia, Gardenia and Io Donna's Wedding Book.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as possible once the date and venue are settled, particularly for the spring and summer season.
