Mar Hall is a golf and spa resort at Bishopton near Glasgow, with a Grand Hall, a Burgundy Suite and a marquee for weddings, and exclusive use of the house.
Mar Hall opened in 2004 as a luxury hotel on the outskirts of Glasgow, with views over the River Clyde and the Kilpatrick Hills. Weddings are planned with a personal wedding planner, who can arrange cars, flowers, make-up and a fireworks display. Exclusive use gives the wedding party the whole house for a few days, with every facility at their disposal.
Three settings suit different guest numbers. The Grand Hall, with floor-to-ceiling windows and original marble fireplaces, seats 200 for the wedding breakfast. The Burgundy Suite holds 150 for a ceremony and 115 for the wedding breakfast, and the Marquee, dressed in cream drapes, crystal chandeliers and a star cloth ceiling, holds up to 300. Ceremonies can also take place on the balcony above the river. The Honeymoon Suite is provided on the wedding night, with a four-poster bed, a roll top bath and Aveda toiletries. The resort also has an 18-hole championship golf course, a fitness centre and a Decléor spa.
