Elisabeth Chidi and SoulPlay

SoulPlay is a live band built around the repertoire of funk, soul, disco and pop. It performs at weddings, corporate events, award ceremonies and private parties, with an interactive show aimed at keeping guests on the dance floor.

The full show is a twelve piece band, and its members have played alongside artists including Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Gloria Gaynor and Pixie Lott. The band has also performed at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan.

The line-up is flexible. A three piece can play a bridal entrance or canapé reception, the band can grow to fifteen for a concert-style set, and a string section and dancers can be added.

Venues played include The Ritz, Claridges, Kensington Roof Gardens, St. Pancras Renaissance, Kew Garden, Eltham Palace and Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, as well as events in Italy and elsewhere overseas. Each booking is assigned an event planner who handles the details, and the band holds live showcases through the year.

Perfect entertainment for our wedding

Elisabeth made it so easy for us to rest assured that we would have the perfect entertainment for our wedding guest as they arrived to our wedding and we absolutely did! Our amazing saxophonist played beautifully and was extremely professional and personable. He was a joy to have and made our big day that much extra special. From great communication, an easy booking system, quality of musicians, fair pricing, Soulplay are who you should book for your event. I will most definitely be doing so for future events. Fantastic at our wedding

Soulplay played at our wedding in January 2023. They were fantastic. Incredible musicians with the passion and energy to get the most curmudgeonly old uncle off his seat and dancing. They were receptive to the mood of the crowd with lots of interaction. They also made small changes to their set to make sure the energy didnt wane and it meant the night ended with everyone on the floor and everyone calling for encores. Elizabeth is also very professional in the planning stages and tailored the band to our budget and function needs. I would recommend them to anyone. Big thank you to Soulplay.

Soul play played at our wedding on Sunday and they was absolutely fantastic! We had the sax playing during our wedding breakfast and then the band for the rest of the evening. Best band ever

Absolutely incredible. We got married in June and booked Soul Play as we had heard them play at our friend’s daughter’s wedding. They were even better than we had hoped for. We are in our 50s but we had our young grandsons of 2 and 4, and every generation in between and everyone said the same thing. ‘Best band ever’. They were truly fantastic and we didn’t want the party to stop. Thank you Soul Play for making our wedding so special. We loved you.

Before you write to them

What does the standard package include?

Two hours of live music from the chosen line-up, one special song outside the usual repertoire, a full PA and lighting, and up to three hours of playlist between sets. Arrival is at 17:00 and the finish at 00:00, or as the contract sets out.

How large is the band?

It can be a three piece up to a twelve piece, or a fifteen piece concert-style show, so it can be matched to the venue and budget.

Can the band add strings or dancers?

Yes. A string section and dancers can be requested for a richer sound and a more glamorous show.

Does the band travel?

Travel within the London M25 is included in the standard package. Some events are overseas, and the band adapts to the needs of each one.

Is insurance covered?

Public liability insurance up to £5,000,000 and portable appliance safety testing are part of the standard package.

Can I see the band before booking?

The band hosts live showcases through the year, which give a chance to experience the show.
