The Sway Allstars

The Sway Allstars are a party band run from Shoreditch in London. Its members work as touring and session musicians in the mainstream music industry and come together to play private parties, weddings and corporate events. Their combined credits include work with James Brown, Amy Winehouse, Blur, Kylie Minogue, Ed Sheeran and Robbie Williams.

Couples can book the band in several shapes. A solo pianist, guitarist or singer suits a ceremony or drinks reception, and duos such as DJ and sax or singer and piano are available. The DJ Live band replaces drums, bass and guitar with a DJ while the singers, saxophonist and percussionist play along. The full party band usually comes as a seven piece with three singers or a ten piece with brass and percussion, and can be as small as six or as large as twelve.

“We promise three things: the highest level of professionalism, the highest level of entertainment and a full dancefloor.”

The Sway Allstars

The repertoire runs from 60s Motown and soul through 70s disco, 80s pop and 90s anthems to current chart music, and traditional Israeli dancing. Themed sets are also available, among them 70s disco, 80s pop and 90s Britpop. The band asks what a couple likes and dislikes and adapts the set to the crowd on the night, built around a set list refined over more than 25 years.

The band has played well over 500 weddings, from private gardens to large venues, and more than 2,000 events in over 40 countries, including Dubai, where it has played for more than 20 years. About 80 per cent of its work comes from repeat bookings or recommendation.

How they work

From the first message to the day itself

  1. 01Send an enquiry

Couples give the date, location, number of guests and occasion through the contact form, and say whether they need the PA and stage lighting, a live DJ, or early load in or late load out.

  2. 02Choose a line-up

The band suggests line-ups from solo pianist or singer to a twelve piece, and couples can ask for a particular combination. Space needed runs from about 4m by 3m for a four piece to 8m by 5m for twelve.

  3. 03Shape the set list

Couples say what they like and what they do not, and the band will not play a genre they dislike. The set is adapted to the room through the night.

  4. 04Sign the contract

A non-returnable deposit is taken when the contract is signed. If the date cannot be kept because of force majeure, a new date is agreed and the deposit moves to it.
