A courtyard in Soho
Ham Yard Hotel stands in a quiet courtyard a few steps from Piccadilly Circus, a village-like enclave in the busiest part of London. Kit Kemp designed it in her modern British style, mixing high fashion, handcrafted detail and theatrical touches. It is one of the Firmdale hotels, alongside Haymarket Hotel.

Where the wedding happens
Weddings at Ham Yard use a run of different spaces: a rooftop garden with beehives and views across the skyline, an orangery for cocktails and conversation, a 1950s bowling alley imported from Texas that serves for after-parties, and a private theatre of 190 seats for ceremonies or presentations. The restaurant and bar sit on the same site, so a day can move from one space to the next without leaving the hotel.

Bedrooms
The hotel has 91 bedrooms and suites, each individually designed, for guests to rest in and for bridal parties to get ready. Floor-to-ceiling windows, bold prints and tailored furnishings run through the rooms.

The courtyard
The central courtyard is a leafy square anchored by a large bronze sculpture by Tony Cragg, and it gives the hotel a clear sense of arrival. Guests gather there for champagne under fairy lights.

Who it suits
Ham Yard suits couples who want atmosphere and a design with a story. Seasonal menus, cocktail pairings and the flow of the event are planned by the hotel’s events team. See the Ham Yard Hotel wedding venue listing for capacities, rooms and the nearest stations. Firmdale describes the rooms and spaces on the Ham Yard Hotel page of its website, and the London Wedding Atlas covers marrying in the city.
