Med inStyle is a wedding and events studio at Via Eurialo in Naples, working on four stretches of coast: Capri, the Amalfi Coast, Naples with the Sorrento Peninsula, and Costa Smeralda in Sardinia. Alessandra Gravina founded it in 2010. Before that she spent more than ten years in luxury hotels as sales and marketing manager and events director in Capri, Naples, Milan, Paris and on the Côte d'Azur, and she wrote both of her degree theses on Mediterranean culture. She now divides her time between the Amalfi Coast, Naples and Paris.
The team is small. Alessandra leads the planning, Paolo, co-founder and sales and marketing manager, works between Paris and Italy, and Carmen, a Neapolitan who trained at the Academy of Fine Arts and in graphic design, is the wedding designer. The studio says three or four of them are usually at a wedding, depending on its size, and that it takes no more than ten weddings a season.
“Our wedding studio was born in 2010 from the love for the Mediterranean and its lifestyle, which always inspires us to create bespoke destination wedding experiences with a multicultural approach.”
Alessandra Gravina, founder
Every project starts from a vision board built with the couple, which becomes a drawn sketch of the day before anything is booked. One element or colour palette is then repeated through the whole design, from tables and fabrics to the paper. Stationery is designed in-house, in watercolour, on Amalfi paper or in plexiglass, and decor is made with local craftspeople. Suppliers come from a network the studio has used for more than ten years, and site visits cover both ceremony and reception.
The weddings it publishes show the range. One bride married at the Church of Santa Sofia in Anacapri, walked to Capri Palace for dinner, gave guests personalised Capri sandals and danced at a silent headphone party after midnight. A New York couple held their rehearsal dinner for 80 at one long table at Da Paolino and married at the Lido del Faro beach club. Others include a three-day Indian wedding on the Amalfi Coast with mehndi and sangeet, and a Miami couple's weekend that ran from a sailing boat off Capri to a church ceremony in Positano and a symbolic rite at Villa Zagara in Sorrento.
The style leans on the place: long tables outdoors, hand-painted ceramics, citrus, bougainvillea and colour, with the sea or Vesuvius as the backdrop. The studio also looks after guests, with hotel blocks, transport, outings on the coast and a dog-sitting service, and its chefs can plan vegan and vegetarian menus.
