Tobi Tobi

Tobi Tobi is Renee and Jamie, a Melbourne duo performing with acoustic guitar, double bass and vocals. Renee sings and plays guitar; Jamie plays double bass. They describe their music as intimate and atmospheric, shaped to the mood of the day rather than filling the room.

They play across genres and eras, moving from Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra through Roy Orbison and Mumford & Sons to current favourites, all reworked in their own acoustic style. Couples can choose songs from a published collection for the ceremony, canapés and dinner, first dances and the celebration or exit, and the duo will learn songs that matter to you.

“What makes us truly unique is that we can move from Johnny Cash to Bon Iver to Beyoncé to Taylor Swift to Ella Fitzgerald within a single set, and somehow it all feels completely cohesive. It all sounds like us.”

Renee, Tobi Tobi

They perform at the ceremony, during cocktail hour, for the first dance and through dinner. Where a couple wants more scale they can add harp, violin, cello or a small orchestra, and Renee has sung alongside a small orchestra at a wedding in Montenegro.

Each summer they travel through Europe to play weddings, with published pages for Ibiza, Puglia, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast and Montenegro, and they have also travelled for weddings in places such as the Maldives. Their work has been featured in Vogue France and Vogue Australia.

Two further services are offered: bespoke studio recordings of your ceremony songs to use in your wedding film, and a small number of original love songs written about a couple's story each year. They also perform feature sets and atmospheric music at galas and corporate events.

The core act is guitar, double bass and vocals. Harp, violin, cello or a small orchestra can be added where the venue and day suit it.

  4. 04Perform on the day

  5. 05Keep the soundtrack

Ask about a studio recording of a ceremony song for your wedding film, or about an original love song written for you.
