About Augustine Hotel, Prague

A hotel in a 13th-century monastery in Prague's Lesser Town, with a private connection to the Baroque church of St. Thomas.

Augustine Hotel stands in Prague's Lesser Town, on the 13th-century site of the active Augustinian Monastery of St. Thomas. Prague Castle and Charles Bridge are moments away. The rooms keep the monastery's original frescoes, vaulted ceilings, stone archways and ornamental ironwork, and the building also holds a spa, a restaurant with a courtyard terrace, and the Refectory Bar in the monks' former dining hall.

For a wedding, the hotel has a private connection to the Baroque church of St. Thomas, so a ceremony in the church can be followed by a reception under the same roof without transport. The Monastic Room, a pillarless hall with vaulted ceilings, is the main reception space. The Sundial Garden offers an outdoor courtyard for a civil ceremony or a champagne reception, and the St. Thomas Brewery, a 17th-century cellar with its own entrance, suits an after-party or a smaller dinner. In-house catering, a wedding planner, a DJ and a decorator are listed among the services.

The rooms are beautifully designed

The Augustine in Prague is a refined and elegant hotel that perfectly blends history with luxury. The rooms are beautifully designed, featuring exceptionally comfortable beds and high-quality linens that make for a great night’s sleep. The property itself has a sophisticated charm, with a peaceful ambiance despite being in a central location.
Breakfast is very good, offering a solid variety of options with attentive service. Due to the hotel’s popularity, upgrades can be limited as it’s often fully booked—but even the standard rooms are spacious and well-appointed.
Overall, The Augustine delivers a high-end experience with comfort, style, and consistent service—definitely one of Prague’s finer stays.

The staff is exceptionally friendly

The hotel building is steeped in history, yet impeccably maintained. The staff is exceptionally friendly, a special thanks to Ester for the birthday card and cake waiting in our room upon arrival! Room service was prompt and beautifully presented. Housekeeping was excellent, even offering an evening service. We also appreciated the chance to try the unique St. Thomas beer at the Brewery Restaurant, which was a great touch. Kudos to the entire team and management, keep up the fantastic work!
