Timeless photos and an exquisite album

Yervant Photography is a family-run wedding photography and videography studio in South Melbourne, led by Creative Director Yervant Zanazanian with his sons Ricky and Robbie.
Yervant ZanazanianCreative Director, photographer and educatorYervant Photography is a family studio in South Melbourne, now in its third generation of professional photographers. Yervant Zanazanian is the Creative Director. He learned the craft from his father, a professional photographer and retoucher, and became an early adopter of digital capture and post-production. He is credited with developing the magazine-style wedding album, and WPPI has named him the Most Influential Wedding Photographer of Time.
The studio's style is natural, candid and editorial, with what the family calls a Fashion Meets Wedding look: real emotion, directed lightly, with a European fashion approach to light, posing and black and white. Yervant's sons Ricky and Robbie both shoot stills and film, his wife Anie runs the business and looks after each couple, and the team is supplemented by chosen photography and videography specialists.
“Only the wedding rings and photography/video last a lifetime, all else, until midnight.”
Yervant, Creative Director
Coverage is not charged by the hour. The day starts with the groom's preparations and moves to the bride's, takes in the ceremony without disturbing guests, and gives family photographs as long as they need before portraits at chosen locations. The studio does not cap the number of images it takes, and the studio says every tradition and culture is honoured, including Muslim weddings and other cultural celebrations.
Couples receive an online gallery, which the studio aims to upload within about ten days and describes as two weeks for the full set, with more than 1000 edited high-resolution images and a USB of the files. Images chosen for albums, prints and wall art are retouched in house. Albums are designed from the couple's favourite frames as a story book, then printed and made in Italy, and prints are produced at the studio's own facility on archival papers and museum-grade canvas.
The studio also films weddings in 4K with two videographers, adding drone coverage where the weather and venue allow. Couples receive a highlight film of up to about 12 minutes and a full-day edit, all edited in house, which can take four to six months.
Couples send their date, venue and requirements through the website and receive the studio's Investment Guide.
The studio talks through your day, your style and whether you want photography, film or both, then builds a package around it rather than selling a fixed set.
A couple session before the day is part of the photography collection, so you are at ease in front of the camera.
Coverage runs from the groom's and bride's preparations through the ceremony, family photographs and portraits to the reception, with no hourly limit and no cap on images.
The best frames are culled and colour corrected, and the online gallery is aimed for within about ten days. Video editing is done in house and can take four to six months.
Favourite images are retouched and designed into a story book album made in Italy, with prints and wall art produced at the studio's own facility.
