About De Vere Horsley Estate

A Victorian gothic mansion in East Horsley, Surrey, with a chapel, tiled cloisters and lakeside lawns, where the wedding and the stay share one estate.

De Vere Horsley Estate in East Horsley

De Vere Horsley Estate is a Victorian gothic mansion and hotel in East Horsley, Surrey, set in parkland. The mansion, Horsley Towers, was designed and built by Sir Charles Barry, the architect of the Houses of Parliament, and was later the seat of the Lovelace family, who enhanced it with the bold architectural features that can still be seen throughout. Alongside it stand Horsley Place, a contemporary building, and the estate's original stables. The turreted mansion is the heart of the estate and is used for weddings, parties and private dining, while the newer buildings sit comfortably beside it.

Weddings here are set among a secret chapel, tiled cloisters and a lakeside lawn and terrace, with the turreted mansion rising over the grounds. The estate gives couples a choice of indoor rooms and outdoor settings for the different stages of the day, and a dedicated team of wedding coordinators looks after the details. The lakeside lawns, chapel and cloisters can be used privately for wedding photographs. Away from the wedding itself, the grounds, with a terrace, lawn and lake, are there for wandering and relaxing. Beyond weddings, the estate has experiences such as secret tunnel tours and frisbee golf, and has a fully equipped gym and an indoor swimming pool.

Just wanted to send a quick message to say thank you for all the hard work in helping us put together what turned out to be a perfect day on the 18th.
Please pass on my thanks to all the staff involved on the day. They really did pull out all the stops for us.
In addition Steve the DJ was excellent - he kept the dance floor busy all night. Would definitely recommend him to other people.
And the other Steve was great. It was so good having someone to organise things and take charge.
Again thank you for all you help - and for Georgia’s too.

Lizzie and I can’t express our thanks and appreciation to you and your amazing staff. You truly made are day special and memorable for us both and all are guests.
Of the people we have spoken to so far the phrase “best wedding I’ve been to” has popped up a lot. That’s amazing for us, but has made the next wedding in our families have real competition.

Following our wedding on Saturday, we wanted to send a heartfelt thank you for everything you did to help make our day both organised and special.
The venue looked absolutely stunning, especially in the lucky October dry weather we had, and we had so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful everything was.
The wedding breakfast and the BBQ was exceptional so please pass on our compliments to all the chefs and all those involved in the preparations, many people mentioned how impressed they were with the quality and presentation of the food, which meant a great deal to us. The waiting staff during the meal were fantastic, and we appreciated how flexible and understanding they were, especially when navigating around children and the scattered Lego creations that had been created at the back of the Sopwith!
We would also like to say a special thank you to Sam, Georgia and later Masi. They were incredibly attentive, calm, and supportive throughout the day, helping everything run smoothly and efficiently, and ensuring we felt looked after at all times.
