A villa at the top of the hill

Perfect Sunshine is a private five-bedroom villa at the top of Nonsuch Bay Resort, on the east coast of Antigua. It sleeps up to 11 and is generally rented to one group of family or friends, and it takes intimate weddings and honeymoons, with room for immediate family and friends.

The design is contemporary and European, with an Italian kitchen, Designer’s Guild furniture and high timber ceilings. Wide sliding doors open from the living room onto two verandas. One looks east towards Green Island and the sunrise, the other west across a calm, fjord-like bay to the sunset.

The pool and the deck

Below the house is a private infinity pool, 50 feet long and between 3.5 and 5 feet deep. A timber deck runs alongside it with sun loungers, and a gazebo stands at the far end with a table that looks across the bay.

A small wedding on the veranda

Weddings here are for immediate family and friends, so the villa suits a small party. The covered veranda is the main place to gather and dine, with a long table under the timber roof and the bay beyond, and it can be dressed for an occasion with white chair covers and bunting.

Five bedrooms

The master bedroom has a super king four-poster bed, an en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi and a walk-in shower, and views on three sides. The upstairs bedroom has a super king sleigh bed and east-facing sea views. The Blue Bedroom has a king bed and a day bed, so it sleeps three, with an en-suite bathroom and its own balcony. The Yellow and Blue Bedroom is a king room with a triple aspect view and a private balcony, and the Green Bedroom sleeps three and has its own balcony.

The resort and the bay

Nonsuch Bay Resort lies below the villa. Its private beach is a five-minute walk down the hill, and there are three pools and the Breeze restaurant, so guests can join resort life or stay entirely at the villa. The bay is used for sailing, sailing lessons, kitesurfing and windsurfing, and boat trips cross to Green Island, about ten minutes away, for snorkelling.
