Why marry in Positano?

Positano is the image that defines the Amalfi Coast in the international imagination: pastel-coloured houses descending in tiers from the cliff to the pebble beach, bougainvillea framing every view, the sound of the sea constant below. It is one of the most photographed towns in Italy.

For weddings, Positano offers something the Amalfi Coast's other locations do not: a complete visual identity that requires no supporting context. Guests recognise Positano immediately. The photographs from a Positano wedding are understood globally without caption.

The practicalities are specific to its geography. Positano is built vertically, staircases rather than streets connect most of the town. Venues are accessed on foot or by boat. This creates logistical requirements that must be planned carefully, but it also creates moments, a bridal party arriving by boat to the beach, a ceremony on a terrace above the village, that exist nowhere else.
