Villa Castiglione is a restored Franciscan convent in the hills above Florence, with twelve artist-designed rooms, a restaurant, a pool and gardens that look over the city and its Duomo.
Villa Castiglione stands in the hills of Impruneta, about five kilometres from Florence, in a restored Franciscan convent. The gardens face the city, and from them Brunelleschi's Duomo can be seen set into the Tuscan landscape. Parkland surrounds the house, and a swimming pool lies in the grounds. The property runs as a small hotel with its own restaurant serving Tuscan cuisine.
Weddings are held in the gardens, with a wedding planning service to coordinate the day and an event manager to speak to. The house has twelve rooms and a bridal suite. Every room was made by the contemporary artist Gabriele Nuzzarello, with gilded and painted headboards, colourful furniture and original paintings, and the rooms come in three categories: Comfort, Superior and Deluxe. Guests can also arrange guided tours of Florence, e-bike rides into the Chianti hills and cooking lessons. Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra are within reach of the surrounding countryside.
