Why the City of London

Why marry in the City of London?

The City of London, the Square Mile, is London's oldest district and its financial centre, home to St Paul's Cathedral, the Guildhall and the halls of the City's livery companies, the historic trade guilds, many of which host private events. At weekends, when the offices empty, its streets are quiet, which suits a wedding.

Plaisterers' Hall, the City venue, stands on London Wall, on the northern edge of the Square Mile. Its Great Hall seats up to 330 for dinner, and civil ceremonies are licensed in three of its rooms.

The City is well connected: the Elizabeth line at Liverpool Street, Moorgate and Farringdon reaches Heathrow, and St Paul's Cathedral and the river are close by for photographs.
