Marco Ficili

Marco Ficili is a wedding photographer based in Catania, in the east of Sicily. He describes his work as timeless, candid wedding photography, a blend of wedding photojournalism and intimate family portraits, built on the idea that the best moments cannot always be put into words: a glance, a hidden smile, a small gesture.

His pictures lean towards the unposed. Groups of guests, a bride in a quiet room before the ceremony, a procession through a narrow street: he follows what is happening and keeps the portraits of the couple relaxed, in the light and the landscape of the place. His Instagram describes the work as documentary wedding and film photography.

Marco Ficili

Most of his weddings take place in and around Taormina, from the gardens of its historic villas and hotels to the coast at Isola Bella, with others in Noto, Acireale, Scicli and Sampieri. He also photographs elopements, often with a short walk through Taormina, and anniversary and family sessions for couples who return to Sicily. Couples from many countries have married with him, and they regularly mention Barbara, who works beside him on the day.

Marco also films. His YouTube channel holds a wedding film for many of the weddings and elopements he photographs, so couples can see how a whole day, from the vows to the dancing, is told in moving image as well as stills.
