Greywalls is an Arts and Crafts country house designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1901, its honey-grey stone curving around a sunlit forecourt. Six acres of walled gardens, laid out by Gertrude Jekyll, surround it, with herbaceous borders, lavender-edged paths, clipped topiary and open lawns. The house operates as a Small Luxury Hotel with the Chez Roux restaurant, and 23 individually designed en-suite bedrooms.
Weddings take the house, the gardens and every bedroom on an exclusive-use basis. Couples can marry in the house or among the borders, with up to 120 guests for a garden ceremony. Chez Roux serves the wedding breakfast in the Main Dining Room for up to 50 guests or the Original Dining Room for 20, and a marquee on the lawns can host up to 300. Further rooms at the Colonel's House and the Cottage Rooms keep the party on the estate. Edinburgh and its airport are about 30 minutes away. Sir Edwin Lutyens designed Greywalls in 1901 as an Arts and Crafts country house, curving its honey-grey stone around a sunlit forecourt. It stands above Muirfield, one of the great championship golf links, with views towards the Firth of Forth.

Gertrude Jekyll, Lutyens's frequent collaborator, laid out the six acres of walled gardens. Borders flower through high summer, paths are edged with lavender, and the topiary is clipped, with lawns running towards the links.

The wedding breakfast is served by Chez Roux in the Main Dining Room for 50 guests or the Original Dining Room for 20. French technique meets Scottish ingredients, and a marquee on the lawns is available for larger parties.
