Robert Hornsby and In Water Flowers

In Water Flowers began in 1999 as a small delivery service, with arrangements styled and driven round London in a van. In 2000 the studio submerged flowers in clear glass vases and froze orchids inside giant ice blocks for the opening of Tate Modern, a piece of work it describes as a first for floristry.

That taste for scale has stayed with the studio. Later commissions include a suspended wall of more than 26,000 flowers for the National Gallery in 2016 and a Royal Entrance installation for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, built by the same team that makes the bridal bouquets.

“In Water want your wedding flowers to be gorgeous, well planned and spectacular.”

In Water Flowers

Wedding work covers contemporary schemes and more traditional ones. The studio designs bouquets and buttonholes, ceremony arches and aisles, chuppah and canopy designs, reception tablescapes, urns and pedestals, and hanging installations that dress an entire room.

Weddings have taken place at Blenheim Palace, Cliveden House, Chiswick House, Castle Howard, Farnham Castle, Stapleford Park and Coworth Park, as well as inside the glass dome of The Gherkin. The studio works in London and across the UK, and takes on a limited number of weddings each year alongside its corporate and events calendar.

The team is made up of florists, installation designers and logistics staff working from Latimer Road. Couples are welcome to visit the studio and showroom to talk through ideas before they book.

I wanted to say the biggest THANK YOU for truly the most beautiful flowers ever last weekend!! Firstly, the bouquets were just so incredible, mine especially (!) and then the church flowers were perfect and the venue just blew us away!!! We had so many compliments on the flowers. You were so amazing and kind and just got exactly what I was after (even more than I did!) and I can’t thank you enough for that!!

Wow. I am speechless. The flowers were out of this world and couldn’t have been more perfect. They were the biggest talking point of the day and I’m sure will be remembered by everyone. From the flower girls headdress, to the buttonholes, my gorgeous bouquet, the ceremony back drop and of course the floral ceiling, everything was stunning and exactly what I had envisioned. Thank you so much!
