Sorcha Herbert Flowers is a wedding florist working from a studio in Wooburn Common, a few minutes from Beaconsfield.
Sorcha Herbert runs her floristry studio in Wooburn Common, a few minutes from Beaconsfield on the edge of the Buckinghamshire countryside. Her style is natural, organic and a little wild, luxurious but informal, and takes its cue from the hedgerows, fields and woodland around the workshop.
She trained first in textile design, as a weaver, and says it gave her an eye for how small touches of colour and texture combine. She makes an early morning trip to the flower market each week to select every stem by hand, favouring seasonal flowers.
“I only take on one wedding a day.”
Sorcha Herbert, Founder and Florist
Sorcha takes on one wedding a day so that she can deliver the bridal bouquet, pin on the buttonholes and see the venue flowers through in person. Popular palettes include burnt orange, dusty lavender and autumn dahlia tones, as well as classic white and green.
She works across Buckinghamshire, the Chilterns and the surrounding counties, including Berkshire and Oxfordshire, for intimate ceremonies, barn and marquee weddings and country house receptions. The studio also offers event flowers, deliveries and subscriptions, editorial shoots and one-to-one classes.
A conversation about the couple's ideas, in person at the Wooburn Common workshop or over the phone.
A personalised quote and mood board follow, shaped by the venue, colours and budget.
In the week of the wedding Sorcha chooses the flowers by hand at an early morning market trip.
She delivers the bridal bouquet, pins on the buttonholes and oversees the venue decorations herself.
