Leo Eventi is a studio devoted to elopements and small weddings. Monica Roma spent years producing large celebrations in Italy before narrowing the practice, and the studio now counts itself among the first in the country to concentrate on this kind of day. It is registered in Turin and works from Lake Como and Rome.
Monica studied Political Science with a specialisation in Economics at the University of Turin and followed it with a marketing course at the London School of Economics. She ran a fashion franchise and showroom for five years before moving into events alongside her mother, who planned weddings for the local community. She has also advised venues, hospitality properties and caterers, and she lectures in event management.
The studio has its own celebrant. Each symbolic ceremony is written after a conversation with the couple rather than from a template, and is delivered in English, French or German. Readings, vows and rituals go in at the couple's request. For legal ceremonies the team prepares the paperwork, deals with the town hall and supplies the interpreter that Italian law requires, and for Catholic ceremonies it provides the document list and advises which churches will marry non-resident foreigners.
There are no set packages, and every elopement is built around the couple's vision and budget. Services can be taken whole or singly, so some couples ask only for venue scouting and arrange the rest themselves. The work covers Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, the Italian Riviera, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Venice, Rome, Capri, Puglia, Sicily and Piedmont.
A micro wedding can host up to fifteen guests on the studio's à la carte service, and up to forty on Lake Como depending on the villa. Some couples extend the occasion into a three-day weekend, with the days around the ceremony arranged for the few guests who travelled far to be there.

My husband and I had the most perfect wedding day in Lake Como, and we are filled with immense gratitude for Monica and Alessandra. From the moment I realized I couldn’t plan my elopement alone, they stepped in with such care, grace, and precision.
Monica, from our very first consultation to our warm hug at the end of the day, your service was nothing short of exceptional. You handled every detail with such intention and calm that I was able to simply be present and soak in every moment.
And then, your words during our ceremony? Truly unforgettable. You didn’t just officiate, you spoke into our hearts. My husband and I were both in tears. It was deeply personal, beautifully delivered, and exactly what we needed to hear.
We thank you both for making our day feel so intimate, special, and seamless. We are happy to have such a beautiful wedding day memory that we can never forget! Thank you!

Hey Monica,
Thank you so much for making our special day happen. You put so much time and effort into making it work. It wasn’t easy doing it over the Christmas/New Year period but you still got it done. We couldn’t have had a more productive and supportive planner by our side. We really appreciate how much care you put into the finer details to ensure the day went smoothly. It wouldn’t have been the same without you, thanks again it was perfect !

Where do they work?
Across Italy, from bases on Lake Como and Rome. Published regions are Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, the Italian Riviera, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Venice, Rome, Capri, Puglia, Sicily and Piedmont. The company itself is registered in Turin.
Can we marry legally in Italy, or must the ceremony be symbolic?
Either is possible. Many international couples choose a symbolic ceremony, which needs no Italian paperwork, and complete the legal marriage at home. A legally binding civil ceremony needs documents prepared before arrival, can take place only in a municipally authorised location and is conducted in Italian with an interpreter present. The studio provides the interpreter and deals with the town hall.
How small is a micro wedding?
The à la carte service takes up to fifteen guests. On Lake Como the studio will run a micro wedding for twenty to forty, depending on the villa. An elopement can be just the couple and two witnesses, and the studio can provide the witnesses.
Who is Monica Roma?
The founder and creative director. She studied at the University of Turin and the London School of Economics, ran a fashion showroom for five years and then moved into events with her mother. She has designed weddings in Italy since 2005 and lectures in event management.
When is the best time to come?
For the lakes, late April to early October, with May, June and September named for their light and temperature. The coast has a longer season.
Do they work with same-sex couples?
Yes. It was part of the studio's mission from the outset. Italy recognised same-sex civil unions in May 2016, and the team guides couples through that paperwork.
