Daniela Riedlova and My Sicily Wedding

Daniela Riedlova was born and raised in the Czech Republic. She worked for years in banking and ran large events in Prague, including the city marathon, until she organised a close friend's wedding and realised what she wanted to do. She then travelled the length of Italy as a tourist, stopped in Sicily and stayed.

My Sicily Wedding has planned full-service weddings since 2015 from an office at Terrasini, a few minutes from Palermo airport. The team numbers six, all named on the website: a planner and designer who trained as a lawyer, a planner who is also the floral designer, a client coordinator, a guest relations and styling specialist, and a travel operator who builds the excursions and plays the music. Around five of them are on site on a wedding day.

My Sicily Wedding

Her design starts from the island itself. Prickly pear and delphinium sit in a ceramic Moor's head, lemons stand in terracotta on the table and a tower of cannoli is dusted at the moment it is served. The portfolio ranges from a ceremony on the stones beneath the sea stacks at Scopello to a long table under a whitewashed vault, two grooms in linen in an arched doorway and two brides climbing a baroque staircase in Taormina.

Daniela speaks English, German, Italian, Russian and Czech, and is learning Japanese. An interpreter for the ceremony in English, German or Russian is part of the full service. The team takes around twenty weddings a season, and she advises booking about a year ahead to secure the venue.

    The first conversation is free and takes place by telephone, before any choice is made.

  2. 02Venue search

    The search weighs the setting the couple want, the number of guests and the budget together, and Daniela attends the inspections with them.

  3. 03Design and suppliers

    A mood board and a brief go to the florist, who sits inside the team, and a recommended supplier list arrives with prices attached.

  4. 04The wedding day

    Roughly five of the team are on site, coordinating the day, with an interpreter provided for the ceremony where needed.

They will also give you inspiration and tips for all the things you are forgetting, which in retrospect was very important for the overall quality. In the end our wedding weekend ended up in perfection and it would not have been possible without the help of Daniela. We are super grateful and feel we got a enourmous service for the fee we paid, these guys will get you very high value for your money. We came into this with quite a strict budget, which Daniela always respected and helped us maximize the value for when discussing vendors etc. To work with them it’s a true pleasure, just be careful you don’t make too crazy demands, because they will make it happen 😉

Daniela, our amazing wedding planner! I don’t know what we would have done without her, from the moment we met with her I felt like she understood exactly what we were thinking and how we envisioned our wedding weekend to be. Planning a destination wedding isn’t the easiest especially when you don’t speak the language, with Danielas help I think it was easier to plan a destination wedding than it would have been doing it in our home country. She helped us with everything possible and she has an amazing network of all vendors you would need for a wedding, and not to mention her amazing team! We truly feel that Daniela went above and beyond to create the most amazing weekend we could ask for, they definitely exceeded our expectations. Before you write to them

What does My Sicily Wedding charge?

Daniela does not publish a fee. She says the packages are highly personalised and charged as a fixed fee calculated for the event, not a percentage of spend. An Italian directory lists a planning service from €2,500, which is indicative and not her quotation.

What budget do you need to work with her?

Her enquiry form asks for the budget and offers three bands, the lowest starting at €80,000. These are total wedding costs rather than the planning fee.

How far ahead should we book?

About a year before the wedding, to secure the venue. She takes around twenty weddings a season, so her diary and the venue calendar tend to fill first.

How many trips to Sicily will we need to make?

She recommends one. She and the team attend the venue inspections with you, and everything else runs on video calls, email and WhatsApp. One couple planned their whole wedding from abroad while travelling in Southeast Asia.

Who will be at our wedding?
