Suita Carrano Bonadies and Sposa Mediterranea By A&C
Ravello stands on a shelf of rock about 350 metres above the sea, with the Amalfi coastline below and two roads in. Sposa Mediterranea has worked from the town since 1995, when Suita Carrano Bonadies began designing destination weddings, among the first in southern Italy to do so. She has now worked for more than thirty years, first across Italy and later in Europe, India, Macao, Sri Lanka and the Caribbean.
Suita is an ordained wedding celebrant, so a symbolic ceremony can be written and conducted by her directly. She is also a certified wedding planner mentor, the founder and International President of the IWPA, the International Wedding Planners and Travel Agents Association, and co-owner of the historic Hotel Bonadies in Ravello. Owning a hotel in the town gives her first-hand knowledge of terraces, deliveries, timings and the single road up.
The practice states that its pricing is fair and honest, with no hidden commissions and no unjustified markups on supplier services, and it treats budget management as a named service. It accepts a limited number of weddings each year.
Work centres on Ravello and the Amalfi Coast, then reaches the Sorrento and Cilento coasts, Tuscany, Venice, Verona, Rome, the Italian Lakes, Puglia, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia. Beyond Italy it plans in Greece, Croatia, Malta and the Caribbean. Ceremonies range from Catholic masses and civil services to symbolic ceremonies in ruined basilicas, on hotel terraces and on the beach.
The team includes Sharon Ridley-Smith, who is British and lives on the Amalfi Coast, Rob McKeen, who handles business development from the United States, and Gunjan Bansal, who works from India. Couples have come from the United Kingdom, the United States, Hong Kong, China, India, Brazil and Lithuania.

What does Sposa Mediterranea charge?
The fee is quoted against the event. The enquiry asks for the date, ceremony type, guest count and budget band. The agency states that it takes no hidden commissions and applies no unjustified markups on supplier services.
Where do they work?
Ravello and the Amalfi Coast first, then the Sorrento and Cilento coasts, Tuscany, Venice, Verona, Rome, the Italian Lakes, Puglia, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia. Beyond Italy they work in Greece, Croatia, Malta and the Caribbean.
Can foreign couples marry legally in Italy?
Yes. The agency assists with the legal and religious requirements. A symbolic ceremony needs no paperwork, and Suita Carrano Bonadies is an ordained celebrant who can conduct one.
How far ahead should couples book?
The venue and the date are the main constraints in Ravello, where the season is short and the best addresses are few. The agency accepts only a limited number of weddings each year, so it is worth starting with the date.
Who is Suita Carrano Bonadies?
The founder and senior planner. She has designed celebrations since 1995, is an ordained wedding celebrant and a certified wedding planner mentor, founded the IWPA and is its International President, and is co-owner of the Hotel Bonadies in Ravello.
Do they work in English?
Yes. Sharon Ridley-Smith is British and lives on the Amalfi Coast, Rob McKeen handles business development from the United States, and Gunjan Bansal works from India.
Can they handle a large multicultural celebration?
Yes. They plan weddings to suit different cultures, traditions and budgets, including large multi-day international celebrations.
