Roberta Torresan is a Rome-based wedding planner and author of How to Plan a Destination Wedding in Italy.
Roberta Torresan plans weddings in Italy for couples who want an experience rather than simply an event. She works from Rome at the ultra-luxury end of the market, with celebrations at Villa Miani above the city, on the clifftops of the Amalfi Coast, on Tuscan estates, in hilltop villages in Puglia and in the harbour setting of Portofino.
Her planning covers the whole arc of the celebration. Arrivals, guest itineraries, bespoke concierge experiences, welcome events, rehearsal dinners and farewell gatherings are planned alongside the wedding day, so that guests are looked after from arrival to departure. Multi-day weddings usually open with a welcome event the day before and close with a farewell breakfast or lunch.
She accepts a limited number of weddings each year and attends every one in person. Design starts with mood boards and a clear visual identity, covering palette, florals, lighting, linen, tableware and the flow of the spaces, and this is settled before any supplier is briefed.
The studio has built relationships with photographers, videographers, florists and caterers across Italy and can also work with suppliers the couple brings, all of whom are briefed and managed by the planning team. It handles the legal requirements for civil and religious ceremonies, digital RSVPs and personalised wedding websites.
Her work has been recognised with the ELLE International Bridal Awards Best Wedding Planner 2021, LuxLife Destination Wedding Planning Company of the Year 2024 and a place among the World's Top 20 Wedding Planners from LUX Magazine in 2018. She is currently reviewing enquiries for 2027 and 2028.
