Sanda Pandza was born in Split, Croatia, and moved to Rome in 1991 as civil war broke out in the former Yugoslavia. She graduated from the University of Rome in Foreign Languages and Literatures and speaks Italian, English, Croatian, Serbian and Russian. In 2015 she published an autobiographical novel about her journey, A Girl with a Suitcase.
Her career in weddings began in 2001, when she started managing weddings and events at Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano. Two years later she founded Sanda Pandza Events in Rome. Her weddings since then have included Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in 2006, Mena Suvari and Simone Sestito, and Petra Ecclestone and James Stunt, alongside hundreds of couples from around the world. She has been featured in Vogue, Marie Claire, Wedluxe, Hola and People.
The company plans weddings in Rome and Lazio, along the Amalfi Coast and in southern Italy, in Croatia and Montenegro on the Adriatic, and in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. Sanda leads the work personally with a team of four, all based in Rome.
Each wedding is designed around the five senses, with the venue, menu, florals, music and guest experience considered as one whole rather than separate bookings. The aim is a celebration built around a single couple, not a template repeated from one wedding to the next.
Planning starts with venue research and a full event design, developed over 60 to 250 hours depending on the size of the celebration. The team then manages supplier referrals and contracts, the budget, hotel room blocks, transport, menu tastings and rehearsals, and coordinates the whole wedding day. The company also plans private parties and corporate events.
