Ilaria Guarino and Italian Event Planners
Ilaria Guarino and Serena Ranieri founded Italian Event Planners in 2011. They describe themselves as business partners and lifelong friends, in that order, and their weddings are run as a shared creative project rather than a checklist. Annachiara Varriale, a multilingual destination wedding planner, works alongside them.
Their base is Ravello on the Amalfi Coast, with Naples International Airport about an hour away by road. From there they plan weddings across the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and Capri, Tuscany, Umbria, Lake Como, Veneto, Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily and Rome.
The range of weddings is wide. The portfolio on their own site holds roughly fifty-five named celebrations, among them Hindu ceremonies, same-sex weddings, a Scottish groom married in a kilt beneath a Tuscan sunflower arch and a couple in traditional Chinese wedding dress on a gravel drive outside Florence.
Most couples plan from a distance, sometimes across a six-hour time difference, and some cannot visit Italy until the week of the wedding. Client reviews describe master spreadsheets kept current, budgets tracked and adjusted, and vendors recommended and coordinated for a year or more beforehand.
The work reaches well beyond the ceremony and reception. Welcome dinners, boat tours, guest transport, accommodation and post-wedding beach parties are all handled as part of the same job, from weddings of a few guests to celebrations of more than a hundred, and the team stays until the last guest has left.
From the first message to the day itself
- 01First conversation
Ilaria and Serena begin by understanding the scope of the wedding, and the planning fee is set once they know what the couple wants.
- 02Remote planning
Venue sourcing, vendor coordination, budgets and guest travel are managed from Italy, so couples can plan from anywhere in the world.
- 03The wedding week
The team is present throughout, directing the day in English and Italian and running the welcome dinners, excursions and any post-wedding events.

Who runs Italian Event Planners?
Ilaria Guarino and Serena Ranieri founded the agency in 2011 and lead each wedding. Annachiara Varriale, a multilingual destination wedding planner, works with them.
Where in Italy do they plan weddings?
The Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and Capri, Tuscany, Umbria, Lake Como, Veneto, Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily and Rome.
Can we plan from abroad?
Yes. Remote planning is central to how they work, and clients describe a planning relationship that ran for a year or more before the wedding, across time differences of six hours or more.
Do they plan more than the wedding day?
Yes. Welcome dinners, boat tours, guest transport and post-wedding events are planned as part of the same itinerary, including full three-day weekends.
Do they handle guest travel and accommodation?
Yes. Reviews describe help with travel, accommodation and restaurant recommendations for the whole wedding party, not only the couple.
Can they plan multicultural or multi-faith weddings?
Yes. Their portfolio includes Hindu ceremonies, same-sex weddings, Scottish-Italian weddings and traditional Chinese wedding dress, planned with the same attention whatever the tradition.
How large are the weddings they plan?
From small elopements to celebrations of more than a hundred guests, over a single day or up to three days.
What languages does the team work in?
The team directs the day in English and Italian.
How much does their planning cost?
The fee is set per wedding once the scope is understood, rather than from a fixed package.
