About Solar do Paço Algarve
Solar do Paço Algarve is a noble manor house in Algoz, set in the Algarve countryside about ten minutes from the coast. The estate dates from the 14th century and was once the home of the Marquis of Sarria, Fernando Ruiz de Castro, brother of Inês de Castro. Of the five palaces that once stood in Algoz it is the only one that remains, and it has been recently restored. The red Palace of the 19th century is the centrepiece, standing in more than two hectares of land with 1,600 square metres of covered buildings and 6,000 square metres of gardens that combine Japanese-style planting with century-old trees.
A wedding here can keep every part of the day on one estate. The ceremony, drinks reception, dinner and party can move between the modern Main Hall, which opens onto the Japanese garden, the Barn, the former wine cellar that is now the Theatre, the Stables, and the open-air terraces and Terraced Garden. The Palace also holds six suites for the couple and their closest guests. Catering is provided by the estate's own team, a wedding planning service is available, and a menu tasting can be arranged before the day.
