Rellini Art Studio is two photographers, Maurizio Rellini and Serena Ricci, who are married and photograph every wedding together as two lead photographers rather than a photographer and an assistant. They have photographed more than a thousand weddings together, marking their thousandth in 2024. Before weddings, Maurizio built a career in travel photography for National Geographic and Lonely Planet, with more than 700 magazine covers to his name, and outside the wedding season the couple still shoot travel stories and lead photography tours, which they have run since 2013.
Their style sits between documentary and editorial. Most of the day is photographed as it happens, without forced poses; they guide couples gently when needed and, at certain moments, make portraits inspired by fashion magazines, sometimes with the bridal party and friends. They also take the family groups couples ask for, keep a shot list where one is wanted, aim to photograph every guest at least once, and record the venue, the details and, with a drone, the setting from above. They say they avoid passing trends, such as deliberately blurred frames, so that the pictures still look right in twenty years.
“Twenty years from now, you'll look at these images and recognize yourselves, not a performance.”

Alongside the digital coverage they shoot film: black and white on a 6x6 medium format Zenza Bronica and colour on a 35mm Nikon. The film is developed and printed by hand in their own darkroom, and every film print is unique. Both are licensed drone pilots, and drone photography is part of most packages.
They are based in central Italy, on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, and Umbria's castles, monasteries and country estates are home ground, from Castello di Petrata and Castello di Montignano to Monastero Santa Margherita in Todi and Castello di Solfagnano. In Tuscany they work at venues such as Villa Catignano, Borgo Stomennano, Castello di Montegufoni and Tenuta Corbinaia, and they travel regularly to Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast, Puglia and Sicily. Further afield they have photographed weddings in the UK, Greece, Turkey, Denmark, India, the USA, New Zealand and Norway, including a multi-day wedding in India with more than 3,000 guests at the final reception.
For a ten-hour day couples typically receive around 1,000 edited photographs, each also delivered in black and white, so about 2,000 images in all. Full galleries arrive within 7 to 20 days depending on the package. Fine art wedding books, hand-printed film prints and an in-house content creator, who films the day on a phone and delivers reels and clips within about 24 hours, can be added. The studio also works with three independent videographers for couples who want a wedding film.
