Oggi Sposi & Events

Oggi Sposi & Events is a wedding planning and design company in Cagliari, on the south coast of Sardinia. It is run by Alessia Ghisoni and Cinzia Murgia, who founded it and act as its planners, designers and art directors. Before weddings they spent twenty years in interior design and event management, with work in Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London and Geneva, and they were among the first planners in Sardinia to stage weddings on the beach and to court couples from abroad.

They work only in Sardinia and know it closely. Their weddings include ceremonies on the terrace of the Capo Spartivento lighthouse at Chia, beach and garden ceremonies on the Costa Smeralda, a wedding aboard a gulet off Carloforte, an autumn wedding in the mountain town of Fonni and an underwater ceremony in the south of the island, run with the local diving centre and the carabinieri. Venues they present include Chia Laguna, Cala di Volpe, Is Molas, Villa Fanny, Villa Vivaldi, Lantana Resort and Corte in Giorgino.

Design is made in house. Each wedding starts from a mood board and style board, then creative mock-ups and 3D renderings, and the two partners make many pieces by hand, including handwritten calligraphy. They trained in floral design at Asso Fioristi under Gavino Casu and at Ifloral under Giuseppe Tessitore, and do the flowers themselves: arches, backdrops, chandeliers of branches, and lighting to carry the scheme into the night. Their weddings lean to white flowers, soft draping and long tables by the sea.

For couples from other countries they handle the paperwork with registry offices, parishes, the diocesan curia, consulates and embassies, and they plan Catholic, civil, Protestant, Jewish, Buddhist, Maya, Celtic, symbolic and beach ceremonies, as well as same-sex weddings. They also run a training course for new wedding planners, the Wedding MasterClass, and publish their own regional wedding magazine, Oggi Sposi, first issued in 2010.
