Valentina Lombardi and Italian Wedding Company

Italian Wedding Company plans destination weddings in Italy for couples who live abroad. It works as a group of planners and coordinators based in different parts of the country, each responsible for one territory, so the person running a wedding lives where it takes place. The planners cover the Italian lakes, the Piedmont and Lombardy countryside, Venice and the Veneto, Rome and central Italy, the Amalfi Coast, Puglia, the Italian Riviera and Sicily, and they also take winter weddings in the Alps and the Dolomites.

Valentina Lombardi leads the team and covers Lake Orta, Lake Maggiore, Lake Como, the Piedmont and Lombardy countryside and the Aosta Valley. Stefania Zen plans in Rome, Tuscany, Umbria, Lake Bracciano, Puglia and the Amalfi Coast. Veronica Frasca covers Venice, Verona, Lake Garda, the Veneto countryside and South Tyrol, Carola Biasetti the Italian Riviera and Portofino, and Fabio Marciano Sicily. Ernesto Troncarelli handles legal paperwork, logistics and financial coordination, and Mauro De Luca runs the websites and planning tools.

“Because we live and work locally, we know the venues, the logistics and the best vendors in each destination.”

Italian Wedding Company

The company runs several destination sites alongside its main one, among them Italian Lakes Wedding, launched in 2008, plus sites for country, seaside, Rome, winter, ethnic and LGBTQ+ weddings and elopements. Their lake weddings include Lake Orta and Villa Crespi, Isola Bella and the Rocca di Angera on Lake Maggiore, Villa del Balbianello and Villa d'Este on Lake Como, Lake Garda, and the smaller lakes near Rome: Bracciano, Bolsena and Albano.

They plan Catholic, civil, Protestant, Jewish, Orthodox, Hindu, symbolic and same-sex ceremonies, as well as elopements and intimate weddings. The team works in English every day; many of the planners also speak French, German and Spanish, and Russian-speaking couples have dedicated support.

Planning starts with the date, the guest count and the destination. A first proposal of venues, suppliers and a timeline follows, and the planner for that territory then takes the wedding through every detail to the day itself. Members of the team have also volunteered at Two+Us charity weddings in Palermo, Panama City and Lisbon between 2018 and 2021.

Absolutely wonderful company and staff

Absolutely wonderful company and staff. We booked our wedding through the Italian Wedding Company and couldn’t have asked for a better day. Being based in London we couldn’t keep popping to Italy to review hotels or food, but we never felt that we needed to with the Italian Wedding Company, we trusted them completely to provide us with what we needed, and it was better than we could have dreamt it. Everything from the harpist, the hotel, the service and the reception was perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for more. Our guests even commented that our wedding was like something out of a fairytale, and we feel incredibly blessed to have had such an amazing wedding. Thank you Italian Wedding Company 🙂

I would recommend Italian Wedding Company if you are planning a wedding in Italy

The Italian Wedding Company was wonderful to work with despite us being on opposite sides of the world! They found me the perfect destination for my wedding, amazing food, flowers, photographer, hair stylist, DJ and makeup artist. When you plan a destination wedding you have to accept that you can’t control everything but these ladies made my special day more memorable and amazing then I could have imagined. They were at the venue the whole day of the wedding as well making sure that everything was taken care of, decor was set, everything in it’s place, I honestly never had a worry and it is all because of them. I would recommend this company if you are planning a wedding in Italy, they will make it something you’ll never forget!

Everything was wonderful, thank you!

Hi Valentina and Ernesto, We want to thank you for everything in preparation for our wedding. Everything was wonderful and we’ll have a lifetime of memories. Lake Orta was everything we were hoping for and more. We will surely come back as this place and the whole experience will stay forever in our hearts.

Questions couples ask

Before you write to them

How much does Italian Wedding Company charge?

No fee is published. Send the date, guest count, destination and an estimated budget, and the first proposal sets out venues, suppliers and a timeline for that region.

Where in Italy do they work?

Across the country. The planners cover Lake Orta, Lake Maggiore, Lake Como, Lake Garda, Lake Iseo and the lakes near Rome; Piedmont, Lombardy and the Aosta Valley; Venice, Verona and the Veneto countryside; Rome, Tuscany, Umbria, Puglia and the Amalfi Coast; the Italian Riviera; Sicily; and the Alps, Dolomites and South Tyrol for winter weddings.

What languages does the team speak?

They work in English every day, and many of the planners also speak French, German and Spanish. Russian-speaking couples have dedicated support.

How big is the team?

Seven people: six senior planners, each covering a territory or, in Ernesto Troncarelli's case, paperwork and logistics, plus Mauro De Luca on the digital side. Valentina Lombardi leads the team.

How far ahead should we book?

Twelve to eighteen months suits most destination weddings. Popular venues and peak weekends may need longer, while intimate or flexible weddings can be organised faster.

Can they handle the legal paperwork?

Yes. Ernesto Troncarelli specialises in the legal paperwork and logistics of marrying in Italy, for civil and religious ceremonies.

Which ceremonies can they plan?

Catholic, civil, Protestant, Jewish, Orthodox, Hindu, symbolic and same-sex ceremonies, and elopements.
