Luxwedding Iceland
Luxwedding plans weddings and elopements in Iceland for couples who live abroad, and it is led by Vigdís from an office in Kópavogur, on the edge of Reykjavik. The company is a member of the Icelandic Tourist Board, which allows it to plan every detail of a wedding in the country, including accommodation, transport and activities for the wedding party.
The work runs from a couple of people eloping on a glacier to a celebration for 120 guests from 14 countries, and a 23-person group taken on a nine-day tour of the country. Couples usually plan from another country, so most of the process happens by video call and email, with the Luxwedding team on the ground in Iceland.
“Luxwedding combines creativity with a meticulous eye for detail and we seamlessly execute your special day from the first contact to the final farewell.”

Ceremonies are set in the landscape rather than in a room: beside waterfalls on the south coast, at Þingvellir, in the Þórsmörk valley, inside a lava tunnel or an ice cave, on a glacier, and on the Reykjanes peninsula. Receptions have been held in private dining rooms at luxury hotels and in Reykjavik restaurants.
Luxwedding works with a trusted circle of Icelandic suppliers, and finds officiants, photographers, videographers, florists and hair and make-up artists for each couple. It also guides couples through the paperwork needed for the marriage to be legal in their home country, and offers a free 15-minute call before anyone commits.
The style is adventurous but comfortable: cold-weather practicalities are part of the planning, and the team chooses quieter locations even in busy areas so that ceremonies stay private.
