Flammeum is a wedding planning agency based in Istria, Croatia, working with couples from around the world who want to marry on the peninsula. It was founded in 2016 by Eneja Medica-Viola and Sanela Krizmanić, who have planned and coordinated more than 200 weddings between them. The name comes from the flammeum, the bright yellow veil worn by Roman brides, which Romans believed protected the bride from evil spirits and accidents.
Two planners attend every wedding, even though one would be enough, so a day never depends on a single person. The agency never books two weddings on the same date and limits itself to 30 weddings a year, which keeps the planners available to each couple at any hour by phone, WhatsApp, Viber or Skype.
“Gather your family and friends. Leave everything else at our concern!”
Eneja and Sanela, Flammeum
Eneja brings a business background and an eye for detail, and Sanela is the planner couples most often describe as calm, communicative and patient. Their approach is to propose more than one venue or supplier for each need and explain why it suits the couple's style. The final choice always stays with the couple, and couples who have already booked a venue or some suppliers are welcome to bring them along.
They work across Istria and the Kvarner coast, from Rovinj, Pula and Poreč to Motovun and Novigrad, and do not plan weddings in other parts of Croatia. Their venue list includes Sacred Rock, San Canzian, Saints Hills, Hotel Royal, St. Katarina Island, Villa Poropati, Momenti in St. Nikola, Aminess in Novigrad and Agrotourism Paladnjaki, and they can suggest others. They plan legal civil ceremonies, symbolic ceremonies, elopements, vow renewals and same-sex weddings, including Croatia's life partnership for couples who want a legally binding ceremony.
