Reflexion Studio

Reflexion Studio is run by Damian Fiket, the third generation of a family of photographers. His grandparents started the photography business around 50 years ago and his parents continued it. In 2006 Damian rebranded the family studio as Reflexion Weddings. Starting as a local studio, it was shooting more than 60 weddings a year in Croatia, and as bookings grew across the country and abroad he brought in a second photographer, Mladen, who has worked with him for more than 12 years.

Their style is rooted in wedding photojournalism, influenced by fine art and fashion photography. They work with creative lighting, unusual angles and compositions and considered post-production, and they describe weddings as many photographic genres in a single take with no chance to repeat it. The portfolio shows that range: quiet getting-ready frames, couple portraits at dusk and by night, and wide scenes in which the couple sit small within a landscape.

Reflexion works mainly in Croatia, with weddings in Dubrovnik, Zadar, Rovinj in Istria, Zagreb and Castle Trakoščan, and regularly in Italy, including Venice. They have also photographed weddings and engagement sessions in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and New York. They book their own flights, hotels and transport when travelling.

Couples are sent a private link with a slideshow of their wedding day within a day or two. For a day with eight hours of coverage they deliver a minimum of 600 edited images, chosen to meet their technical and artistic standards. They also make wedding albums on their own printers and binding equipment, with custom covers in genuine leather, and offer Graphistudio albums handmade in Italy. Videography is offered alongside photography.

The studio's photographers have entered international competitions since 2009, with awards from WPPI and SWPP including the SWPP Photographer of the Year title in photojournalism in 2014, and they list a place in the Phottix Pro Team in 2016.
