Jewel Weddings is a wedding and event planning company in Attard, Malta, led by Helen Falzon. Helen was born in Malta, gained experience in event planning in Dubai, Milan and Malta before founding the company, and is President of the Malta Chapter of the International Wedding Planners Association. She has worked in wedding planning for more than 15 years.
The name comes from her childhood. Her parents managed several jewellery shops around the island, and she approaches every wedding as a jewel that needs polishing and care. Before planning begins she wants to know the couple's character, likes, dislikes, style and taste, and the planning follows from that.
“Creating beautiful weddings is my passion since it always feels that you are writing a book that will always have a happy ending.”
Helen Falzon, founder
Jewel Weddings plans weddings of every size, from intimate ceremonies to celebrations of several hundred guests, for couples travelling to Malta and for Maltese couples marrying at home. Their portfolio covers Indian, African, Jewish, Irish, English, Maltese, Russian, Armenian, French and American traditions. For Hindu weddings they can arrange the priest, dhol drummers, a bilingual toastmaster and a henna artist, and the mehndi, pithi and ceremony days are planned as one programme.
Venues they work with include Villa Bologna, Palazzo Parisio, Limestone Heritage, Razzett L-Abjad, Castello Zamitello, Baia Beach Club and the island's leading hotels. They also stage weddings in historic squares, private villas, countryside fields and on beaches, with the necessary permits. Weddings in Sicily, including Catania, Taormina and Acireale, have been part of the business since before 2020.
Couples can ask Helen to plan everything from the start, or come to her once the main bookings are made and have her team refine the details and run the day. Many clients plan from Ireland, the UK, Scotland, the United States and elsewhere, by phone, WhatsApp and video call. Helen is with the couple on the day, and her team stays until the last detail is accounted for.
