Wed in Malta is run by Alexia Azzopardi, who studied Tourism Management at the Institute of Tourism Studies in Malta and went on to work in five-star hotels in Malta and abroad, including the Stakis and Hilton Newbury in the UK, the Corinthia in Antwerp, Tripoli and Radisson Blu in Malta. She moved from hotels into weddings and events, and now plans destination weddings in Malta and Gozo. Her colleague Tiziana works alongside her with couples and on the day.
They describe their approach as one point of contact from first enquiry to the end of the wedding, with each wedding designed as an individual event. They find and manage suppliers, ask vendors for their best prices, send quotes and follow-ups to the couple, set up meetings around the couple's schedule and keep the budget in view. Couples abroad plan mainly by Zoom and email, and many describe a planner who is only ever a phone call away.
“The best gift a wedding planner could give, is peace of mind.”

A large part of the work is the paperwork. They guide couples through the Marriage Registry process, hand the application papers in personally at the Registry in Valletta, advise on the documents needed, and can provide the mandatory witnesses and the registrar's transport. Same-sex weddings and civil unions are part of the service, as are symbolic ceremonies for couples who complete the legal part at home.
On the day they work from behind the scenes, with timelines, supplier coordination and a plan B ready when the weather turns. Venues they have worked at include The Sheer Bastion in Senglea, Ta' Betta wine estate, Limestone Heritage, Villa Bologna and Villa Overhills, alongside palazzos, seafront hotels, Gozo and the beach.
Beyond weddings they organise engagement parties, bachelor and bachelorette weekends, vow renewals, honeymoons including private yacht charters, and corporate and private events under the WIM Events name. They also take part in UK wedding shows with Visit Malta, including The National Wedding Show at London ExCeL in October 2025.
