Today’s A Fairytale Wedding Set In Lake Maggiore Italy is planned by My Italy And My Wedding.
Sergey and Ekaterina are a young and elegant Russian couple who dreamed of having a fairytale wedding, a wedding fit for a real king and queen. They wanted it to be on the Italian lakes district at a location that would have the authority to hold civil weddings and where their guests could also stay.
We knew just the perfect place that would accommodate all their needs and more – a real castle, which is still owned by a noble Italian family, on the achingly beautiful Lake Maggiore.
This castle’s unique architecture is truly one of a kind, and it is located on top of a hill with a breathtaking panoramic view with Lake Maggiore at his feet. Its rooms are steeped in history and have at the same time been refurbished with all the modern comforts, creating an atmosphere of royal luxury.
Surrounding the castle is a large, well-kept park with tall trees and lovely garden with a private pond.
As we knew they would, Sergey and Ekaterina fell in love with the venue at first site, for it was not just any ordinary venue but rather a true, authentic Italian castle with a romantic history which fully reflected their idea of elegance and history, of kings and queens.
The civil ceremony took place in the inner courtyard, adorned with flower beds and the castle’s noble coat of arms. The bride and groom were elegant and seemed to step right out of a fairy tale.
After the emotional ceremony, the happy newlyweds and their guests went by private boat to the aptly named Isola Bella – for it truly is beautiful – one of the islands of Lake Maggiore belonging to the dynasty of the royal Borromeo family.
Beautiful gardens and white peacocks were the magical backdrop for the couple’s wedding photos, after which everyone returned to the castle to let the celebration begin, starting with an aperitif on the large terrace overlooking the lake, followed by an elegant dinner in the dining room which had a kingly fireplace, all accompanied by the excellent music by a local band.
The wedding colors – a whole pallette ranging fom ancient pink to mauve and purple – perfectly complimented the romantic atmosphere and were skillfully used in the floral arrangements which were entwined with ribbons of various widths and crystals to add a glistening touch both for the gazebo and for the ceremony.
Even the cake was of the same color palette – an enormous, two-layered cake covered with wisteria-colored icing and sugar flowers. Orchids and candles decorated the banquet tables and on each plate was placed a small wedding gift – a mauve bow with 5 sugared almonds, according to Italian tradition.
