A pool lunch the day after the wedding works best at a venue you have on exclusive use for an extra night, because the pool, the kitchen and most of the guests are already in one place. Before planning it, settle three things with the venue: whether the pool is part of the booking, whether guests staying elsewhere can come, and who cooks.
Where the pool comes with the booking
Relais La Costa, near Monteriggioni, is the clearest case. Its 2025 wedding brochure says the €2,500 wedding fee covers exclusive use of the courtyard, garden, pool, spa and Salone delle Feste. Exclusive use of all eight suites starts from €2,800 a night midweek in low season (March, April, October and November), with a minimum of two nights midweek and three at weekends (Relais La Costa wedding brochure).
That minimum stay is what makes the lunch work: on a three-night weekend, the day after is already paid for. The pool looks across the countryside to Siena, 15 km away.
Borgo Bucciano, in the hills of San Miniato, is booked for exclusive use of the whole hamlet, with a breakfast buffet each morning. It has a panoramic pool with a hot tub, and the venue runs pizza evenings and barbecues for groups, an easy format for the day after.

Where to ask first
Villa Il Cerretino, above Poggio a Caiano, has an infinity pool with two whirlpool corners, and the villa describes it as private to its 14 staying guests. Whether a wedding booking includes the pool the next day is not published.

Villa Mangiacane offers the whole estate for exclusive hire, with spa, gym and two outdoor pools among the services for villa stays. Pool heating is charged separately, worth knowing for a lunch in May or October.
Valle di Badia, above Buti near Pisa, has a pool built on several levels with waterfalls and a whirlpool area. Catering there is by outside caterers using the venue’s two fitted kitchens, so the lunch is a booking with your caterer, not the house.

Numbers
Check who sleeps on site. Relais La Costa sleeps up to 30, Borgo Bucciano 24 and Villa Il Cerretino 14, so at a wedding of 60 many guests will come in from nearby hotels. Arrange a transfer for them, both ways.
How to run it
- A late start: lunch from about one o’clock, after a slow morning.
- Food that can wait on a long table in the shade, rather than a served meal.
- Umbrellas, towels, and something for children if there are children.
- No dress code. Tell guests so.
What to ask the venue
- Is the pool included in the exclusive use, and at what hours?
- Can guests who are not staying at the venue join?
- Is the lunch cooked by the venue, and how is it priced?
- What time must the last guests leave, and when does the next booking arrive?

Questions couples ask
How much does a day-after pool lunch cost?
None of the venues here publishes a price for one. Ask for a per-guest quote at the same time as the wedding dinner.
Is the pool ours for the whole wedding weekend?
At Relais La Costa, yes: the wedding fee includes exclusive use of the pool. At other venues, it depends on the exclusive-use terms, so ask.
