Summerill & Bishop

Summerill & Bishop is a kitchen shop in London, founded in 1994 by two long-standing friends, June Summerill and Bernadette Bishop. The first shop opened in May 1994 in Clarendon Cross, and the idea was to sell only things the two founders liked and would use in their own kitchens.

The range leans towards hand-made earthenware, glassware and natural homewares in soft, earthy tones, with a Provençal feel. Pieces are sourced from France, Italy, Belgium, England, South Africa, Germany and the Middle East, and many are not mass produced.

For weddings, the shop builds gift lists around how a couple cooks, entertains and furnishes their home. The team has more than fifteen years of experience in this work and chooses kitchen utensils, cookware, ceramics, glass and decorative accessories to suit the couple's interior style.

Couples can visit the shop and be guided through the selection in person. For those who cannot visit, the list can be put together by telephone or email.
