Ezio De Angelis is an artisan floral designer who has worked from his Bottega dei Fiori workshop in Florence since 1995.
Ezio De AngelisArtisan floral designer and founderBottega dei Fiori is the floral workshop of Ezio De Angelis in Florence, where he has worked with flowers since 1995. He designs for weddings, elopements, private and corporate events and photo shoots, mostly in Tuscany and occasionally elsewhere in Italy and abroad when a project calls for it.
His way of working follows three steps. He starts by listening to the couple and learning the venue, then turns that into a floral design in which each flower, colour and structure has a reason, and on the day he directs the installation with his team, in agreement with the couple or their wedding planner. There is no standard wedding package: each design is drawn from scratch around the place, the season and the atmosphere the couple want.
He has worked in more than fifty locations across Tuscany, among them Villa La Massa, Villa San Michele in Fiesole, Villa Olmi, Borgo San Felice, Castello del Nero, Certosa di Pontignano, Tenuta Argiano in Montalcino and the Cappella di Vitaleta in the Val d'Orcia. Historic villas and castles often restrict how flowers can be fixed, so he plans freestanding arrangements that do not need to be attached to walls, frescoes or architectural features.
Flowers are chosen in season from local growers and trusted markets, which he finds lasts better through a long summer day. He cuts waste where he can and works with wedding planners and agencies as readily as with couples directly. The workshop is open by appointment only.
Share the date, the venue, what you imagine and the budget you have in mind for flowers. Contacting him as soon as the date and, ideally, the venue are fixed gives the best chance of availability.
The first discussion can be a conversation, a visit to the workshop in Florence or, when useful, a visit to the venue.
The first proposal is free. It reflects the venue, the season, the number of elements and the logistics, and is refined with the couple or the planner.
Ezio designs the flowers for each moment of the day, then coordinates the installation and his team so the result matches what was agreed.

Ask for a proposalThere is no fixed rule, as availability depends on the date and the size of the installation. He advises getting in touch as soon as the date and, ideally, the venue are decided, and writing even if the wedding is close.
There is no price list. The cost depends on the venue, the season, the choice and quantity of flowers, the number of elements, logistics and complexity. Discussing the budget at the start lets him design realistically, and the first proposal is free.
His base is Florence and most work is in Tuscany. He can work in other regions of Italy and abroad when the project allows, with any travel allowed for in the price.

Yes. He designs flowers for civil, symbolic and religious ceremonies, as well as intimate weddings and elopements.
