About Castel Brando

CastelBrando is an ancient hilltop castle in the Prosecco hills between Venice and the Dolomites, with 80 rooms, a frescoed baroque church, a restaurant and a spa, and space for up to 700 guests.

CastelBrando stands in the Prosecco hills of the Veneto, between Venice and the Dolomites, above the village of Cison di Valmarino. It is one of the largest and oldest castles in Europe, and its guest list over the centuries is said to include Charlemagne, Giotto, Casanova and Queen Caterina Cornaro. Today the castle has 80 rooms, a restaurant in its eighteenth-century wing and a spa built into a Roman structure.

For weddings, a small frescoed baroque church at the centre of the castle is available for celebrations, and the venue can host up to 700 guests. Ristorante Sansovino serves refined cooking alongside traditional dishes, using local seasonal ingredients in Venetian-style rooms. The Principessa Gaia spa offers massages, a tepidarium, a solarium and Scottish and Vichy shower treatments, and its facilities include a swimming pool, jacuzzi, Turkish bath, Finnish saunas, a Kneipp pool and sun terraces. Two guests who celebrated here describe the views from the castle and its large rooftop terrace, and the attentive staff.

Thank you, especially to Mr Pazzi and Brunella, who took care of everything in the smallest detail, giving us an unforgettable day.

Fairytale reception

We attended a reception at this beautiful castle. The atmosphere is princely, and the frescoed rooms have a retro taste but are not old. Dinner was served buffet, and the portions were remarkable, especially polenta and stuffed cod and lasagna with radicchio. The place is also worth visiting because the view from the castle is awe-inspiring.
