A caravan kasbah in the oasis
Kasbah des Caïds stands in the palm-filled oasis of Tamnougalt, in Morocco’s Drâa Valley near the town of Agdz. The fortified kasbah is around 500 years old and once sheltered caravans crossing from the Sahara towards Marrakech. Its rammed-earth walls, carved doorways and rooftop terraces have been restored from ruins over the last 25 years by the original family owner.

The Oasis Garden
Ceremonies take place in the Oasis Garden, a 14,000-square-metre palm grove beside the river with three ceremony areas for around 70, 100 and 200 guests. It lies an eight-minute walk from the kasbah, with small-vehicle transport available, and has a kitchen for caterers, four restrooms and a car park.

Rooftop and courtyard
The rooftop terrace holds up to 60 guests, with views of the mountains and the oasis, and the inner courtyard holds up to 35 and serves as the backup ceremony space.

Your own team
Catering is not provided by the venue. Couples bring their own caterers, florists, musicians and planners, with a preferred vendor list on request. Alcohol may be served in the Oasis but not inside the kasbah. Wedding packages give exclusive use of the ceremony and reception areas.

Staying, and the road from Marrakech
The kasbah has 10 rooms, sleeping up to 20 guests, with further guests staying in hotels nearby, including in Agdz and Ouarzazate. Marrakech is 250 km away, about four and a half hours by road, on the route towards Merzouga, and a wedding can be extended into a two-night Sahara journey to a Merzouga dunes camp. An elopement for 10 guests over two nights is priced from €3,000.
