Alila Manggis
A seaside resort on Bali's east coast, between the Bali Sea and Mount Agung
5.01 reviewA coconut-grove resort on the east coast of Bali that holds weddings from ceremonies for two to a full resort buyout.
Alila Manggis stands on the east coast of Bali in the Manggis district of Karangasem, between the Bali Sea and the foothills of Mount Agung. The resort was designed by the architect Kerry Hill and sits among coconut palms. Its two-storey thatched pavilions take their form from the wantilan, the Balinese village meeting hall, and each room and suite is angled to the beach so that it looks across the strait to Nusa Penida.
Weddings are held in the Coconut Grove and on the oceanfront lawn, with the central pool and the Seasalt restaurant, a pavilion set on a lotus pond, available for dinners and receptions. Packages run from a ceremony for two to a full resort buyout, and the in-house team handles the decoration, dining and drinks. Spa Alila, a yoga shala facing the sunrise and an Ocean Bar add quieter hours for guests. Beyond the grounds, East Bali offers village treks to Tenganan, the water palaces of Tirta Gangga and Taman Ujung, and snorkelling at the Blue Lagoon. The resort holds EarthCheck Platinum certification and follows a zero waste policy.

What guests say
I love the food
One of the best hotels in Karangasem, Bali. I really enjoyed this peaceful ambience. I love the food, the pool, the people, the sound of the beach, and the gardens.
I would give 4.9 out of 5. It will be perfect if the WiFi connects seamlessly.
I really love sunbathing around the pool here. Mas Ngurah Widya, one of the trainees, took care of each visitor in the pool. So friendly and excellent service!
