Caroline Castigliano

Caroline Castigliano is a British bridal and eveningwear designer who has worked at the front of luxury bridal for over 35 years. Her atelier and flagship boutique stand at 154 Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, where couples book private appointments to see the full collection, including the Knightsbridge Collection, which is sold only there.

Every gown ordered from the atelier is made to order and made to measure in the UK. The cut is built around an integral corset, hand cut panel by panel to shape the figure, and the fabrics come from France, Italy and Switzerland: silk organza, Italian crepe, silk satin organza and French corded lace. A toile in calico is fitted before the gown is cut, and most brides attend four to five fittings.

“The architecture of a gown is so important; the foundations have to be right. Then it is creating the movement, nothing is more stunning than a gown that moves and dances and finally the luxurious fabrics that just bring the designs to life.”

The signature is a clean, classic line with a contemporary detail: sculpted corsetry, a fluid skirt, then lace, a bow or a hand embroidered veil as the finishing touch. Recent collections include Fleur d'Amour 2026 and Only Eyes For You, with campaigns shot in country houses, gardens and on the river.

Couples who cannot reach London can see a curated selection through independent stockists in the UK, Europe, the USA and Mexico, Australia and Asia, and the house holds trunk shows with stockists, with US dates in August and September 2026. International brides are welcomed and fitting schedules are adapted around travel.

The house also makes eventwear and evening gowns, and its work has appeared in British Vogue, Tatler, Vanity Fair and Hello! in 2026.

How they work

From the first message to the day itself

  1. 01Book an appointment

Appointments are booked by phone or WhatsApp, about 12 months before the wedding, and last around 90 minutes. A bride may bring up to two guests, and a booking fee applies.

  2. 02Choose the gown

A dedicated stylist talks through the wedding, the venue and personal style, then guides the bride through the collection and different silhouettes and fabrics.

  3. 03Measurements

Once a gown is chosen, the Head of Fittings takes at least 20 measurements to cut a pattern for the bride alone.

  4. 04Toile and fittings

A calico toile is fitted and adjusted before the gown is cut, and most brides attend four to five fittings through production.

  5. 05Making and finishing

Bridal gowns typically take six to eight months from order to completion, with embellishment, veil and accessories finished to suit the bride.

  6. 06Accessories

Once the gown is chosen, a separate accessory appointment can be arranged for veils, belts and other pieces.
