Sabina Motasem Bride
Sabina Motasem Bride is a London bridal label making modern wedding dresses in fine silks with simple shapes and a precise cut.
Sabina Ali and Sabina Motasem Bride
Sabina Motasem Bride designs wedding dresses that favour quiet luxury over decoration. The collection draws on the glamour of old and new Hollywood, combining geometry and simplicity in clean shapes, fine silks and a carefully judged cut.
Its references come from the Edwardian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, reworked with a modern edge and inspired by the style of iconic women from those eras.
Each dress offers optional details chosen by the bride, including beading designs, sleeve styles, colours and accessories. Lace can run across the whole dress or appear as a single touch, so the collection suits a range of tastes. Day-to-evening dresses and tailored jackets are planned as additions.
The label was founded by Sabina Ali, who studied knitwear at university and then worked in high street design and production and in graphic design before designing cocktail dresses. In 2005 she made a simple wedding dress as a gift for a friend, and further requests led to the label. In summer 2006 she won the New Entrepreneur Scholarship to start it, and was chosen to show the collection at Zandra Rhodes' Fashion and Textile Museum.
The Aurora and Alaya dresses appeared at the first Twilight film premiere in Leicester Square, and the Josephine dress sold strongly when brides looked for a style in the spirit of the dress worn by Pippa Middleton. Dresses can be seen by appointment in Dalston, and at stockists in Hertfordshire, Teddington, Drogheda, Hale and Warwickshire.
