A château among the ponds
Domaine des Etangs, Auberge Collection, is a restored thirteenth-century château in Massignac, in the Charente department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It was built more than 700 years ago and now stands among the ponds that give the estate its name, within 1,000 hectares of forest, parkland and gardens. A contemporary art collection fills the château, and sculptures are placed in the gardens and woodland.

Ceremony and reception
Ceremonies are held on the lakefront lawn of Place de la Chapelle, in the Castle Gardens or in the Longère Gardens, for up to 90 guests. Receptions move to La Laiterie, a 300-square-metre hall with exposed beams and a stone terrace, seating up to 150, or to Octave, a historic stone barn with its own catering kitchen. Les Combles, the attic of the château, is another space.

Dyades, and the estate table
The estate restaurant, Dyades, was awarded one Michelin star in 2025 and 2026, with produce from the estate kitchen garden.

Staying and the buyout
Seven rooms and suites occupy the château itself, with further suites in the Longère and six farmhouse cottages in the parkland. A full property buyout covers 17 accommodations sleeping up to 58 guests and 2,500 private hectares, and there are no strict noise restrictions during a buyout because the estate is surrounded by private land.
