Sarah Glick Romashko and Brilliant Event Planning

Brilliant Event Planning was founded in 2008 and is co-owned by Sarah Glick Romashko and Chelsea LaFollette. Sarah leads the Boston office and Chelsea leads the New York City office, and the two often team up on weddings and events. The firm takes a limited number of events each year so that every client receives close attention.

Sarah studied psychology at McGill University and joined the firm early in her career before taking it over from its founder. She specialises in multi-day wedding weekends, tented celebrations, private estates and destination events across New England. Chelsea, who left law school after her first year and later ran operations at a gourmet food company, leads weddings throughout New York City, the Hamptons, the Hudson Valley, Connecticut and New Jersey.

The firm builds weddings in private homes, tented sites and raw spaces, where a typical working week can involve several days of tent installation, ferries and travel logistics. Its portfolio runs from a Newport waterfront tent wedding and a Palmetto Bluff celebration in South Carolina to a Brooklyn boathouse wedding, a Boston museum terrace and a Riviera Maya beach weekend. It also plans fusion weddings, including Indian fusion weddings.

Kate Hollister is the Senior Associate Planner and the lead planner and designer for couples marrying at a venue in the Northeast. Work abroad has taken the team to Mexico, Ireland, Italy, Antigua, the Bahamas and California. Its weddings have been featured in publications including The New York Times, Brides, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, Carats & Cake and Boston Weddings.

From the first message to the day itself

    Couples contact the studio through the website form or by email to the New York or Boston office, with their date, location and the kind of celebration they have in mind.

  2. 02Choosing a level of service

    Each level of service is tailored to the scope of the event, from full service planning and design to month-of coordination.

  3. 03Design and vendors

    The team develops the design, recommends and negotiates with vendors, helps set and manage the budget, and builds detailed timelines and floor plans.

  4. 04Planning meetings

    Planners schedule and attend vendor meetings, site tours and tastings, and coordinate hotel room blocks and transport for guests.

  5. 05Rehearsal

    The team manages the rehearsal and, where hired, the rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch.

  6. 06The wedding day

    A planning team is on site from the morning to the end of the reception, overseeing vendors, the schedule and every detail.

Antigua beach wedding

Sarah and her team at Brilliant Event Planning listened to our vision and then created our dream wedding on the beach in Antigua.
