Duke Khodaverdian and Duke Photography
Duke Photography, which trades as Duke Images, is a luxury wedding and engagement photography studio in Southern California, led by founder and principal photographer Duke Khodaverdian. He has photographed weddings internationally for more than twenty years and trained in editorial fashion photography before turning to weddings.
The approach is photojournalistic with a fashion photographer's attention to light and composition. Duke uses additional lighting and scouts locations for the strongest backdrop, and describes himself as hands-on, discreet and quick to react, with images that capture the unplanned moments of a day as well as the portraits.
He works with a team of second photographers and production artists. Bronson Pate, who has been with the studio for over a decade and has more than twenty years of photojournalism and event experience, is lead photographer and has covered high-profile and celebrity weddings.
The studio is based in Southern California and works across Los Angeles, Pasadena and Orange County, with New York and destination weddings also on offer. The portfolio includes Montage Laguna Beach, The Resort at Pelican Hill, Terranea Resort, The Beverly Hills Hotel and the Biltmore in Los Angeles, as well as Vizcaya in Miami, Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, the Umaid Bhawan Palace in India and the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
